Pet Danger on the 4th of July…yes, even in Torrance!

America’s Birthday, the 4th of July is almost here!  While a fun and exciting time for us humans, it can often be a very scary experience for our pets. More pets are lost on the 4th of July than on any other day of the year. If your pet does not already have a microchip, now is a good time to think about getting your beloved pet protected. A microchip provides a permanent form of identification that can be scanned at any shelter or veterinary clinic so that in the unfortunate circumstance your pet is lost, you can be easily re-united.  Implanting a microchip is a quick and simple procedure as the microchip is about the size of a grain of rice and is injected under the skin between the shoulder blades.  We sincerely hope that none of your pets get lost, ever, but if that does happen, having a microchip will greatly improve their chances of being safely returned to you.  Please have a safe and happy holiday!
