November is Pet Cancer Awareness Month
Be aware of these early signs of cancer in pets:
- Abnormal swellings that persist and grow
- Loss of weight
- Loss of appetite
- Bleeding or discharge from body openings
- Offensive odor
- Difficulty eating or swallowing
- Hesitation to exercise or loss of stamina
- Persistent lameness of stiffness
- Difficulty breathing, urinating or defecating
- Sores that do not heal
Fortunately with an increase in pet cancer awareness and newly available treatment options, more and more cats and dogs are surviving this life-threatening disease. Call us if you notice any of these signs in your pet.
